Monday musings...

Bama pounded us on Saturday afternoon because they had an identity, and we didn’t. I know it’s much more complicated than that, but Bama knew what they wanted to do and who they wanted to be, and they went out there and imposed their will upon us. That is how you dominate in any sport. That is how we dominated UGA, and how we were dominated Saturday.

The Tide said, “We’re going to throw, and we don’t think that you can stop us.” Well, they threw, and we didn’t stop them.

Letting D.J. Hall score on 3rd and goal from the 18 was Jonathan Hefney’s fault. Completely. I couldn’t believe that I actually saw him let Alabama’s all-time leading receiver run directly by him and allow the ball to sail directly over his head and into said receiver’s arms for a TD. Inexcusable.

Speaking of Hefney, dude talks WAY too much for the performance he’s throwing out there.

Creer on 3rd and 1? Seriously?

And then compound that mistake by punting? We didn’t stop them when they started at the 20, why not take the risk of giving it to them at the 50? What’s the difference? Coaching not to lose…

Speaking of which…when one staff is coaching to win and the other is coaching not to lose, the game will not be close. Guaranteed.

I want to see this coaching staff succeed. My faith in their ability is barely hanging on at this point.

Spurrier will have plenty of tricks for our defense on Saturday. You can take that one to the bank.

Will a supportive crowd show up like they did for the Georgia game? I’m not so sure anymore. This really is starting to feel like 2005, right around the Carolina game. I can really see a similar game unfolding on Saturday night as the 2005 game.

However, if we come out there with an identity (either running or throwing, but I prefer running), then we can take over the game and impose our will and win. Spurrier will be playing to win. Let’s hope that we are too.
