I understand the need for Tennessee to be talked-about in the media.
If there were any other way for the UT program to achieve that result without Coach Kiffin saying headline-grabbing things, I would not be happy with his performance as UT's coach to date.
However, what he's done so far WAS the only way for UT to get in the headlines.
So I'm fine. I get it.

Twitter Trouble
As we all know by now, UT is reporting a secondary violation for Lane Kiffin's tweet about a committed player.
What I've been wondering is this: Assuming the content of the tweet is the same, is it a violation if Lane's account does not tweet the information, but simply retweets what someone else has said?
e.g. RT @3sib J.C. Copeland committed to play for the Vols today!
Is this a violation? Probably still is, although he's not the originator of the content. What if, instead, he tweets something like this:
WOOT! http://twitter.com/3sib/status/1849904727
I really think there's an argument to me made that this tweet doesn't violate the applicable prohibition on naming players who have not signed. What do you think?

Likability of Our Ballervols
One of the reasons that Coach Pearl's Vols were so popular during the first few years of his tenure was that Coach and his players were just so easy to like.
C.J. Watson, Dane Bradshaw, and Chris Lofton were good players and great people.
Because Coach Pearl has had a number of personal issues come to light over the past couple of years, I'm certainly of the opinion that he is much less likable than he was during his first couple of years here. In addition, our players don't seem to have that special something that makes people want to root a little harder for them.
It's not good. I miss the way that the basketball program used to feel. It's still an improvement over the Jerry Green years, but I'm afraid that it's not going to be as fun as it was from '05 to '07.
